Palmeri-Sponsored Rider Places FIRST in 15/16 Junior Road Race Thursday, June 05, 2008 PALMERI sponsored rider, Matt Lipscomb, rode his NEW PALMERI TT bike to finish in the top 15 at the Union City Georgia Cup time trial CAT 2/3 Elite event. At 14 years old, the young rider posted a 22:52 for the 10 mile course. Pushing a gear restricted 50 X 14 Matt's average speed of 26.62 MPH was As the current 2007-2008 Georgia State Road and Criterium Champion (13/14 juniors) keep an eye out for the young rider as he takes his PALMERI TT bike to Los Angeles later this summer to compete at Nationals. Keep up the good work Matt! Footnote: After the Time Trial event on Saturday, Matt went on to place FIRST in the 15/16 junior Road Race and is now the 2008/2009 Georgia State Road Race champion for 15/16 juniors......... congrats! July 20th Fort Mountain Race Sunday, July 20, 2008 Fort Mountain Race is this Sunday. If you can help out with registration or course marshalling, please meet at the Primitive Campsites near the lake between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM. July 21st Trail Maintenance Monday, July 21, 2008 Please join us for trail maintenance on Monday July 21st at 6:30 PM at Gates Chapel Road. The plan is to finish up Pinhoti 1 and tackle the trees that are down on the Middle Pinhoti. August 16th Mountaintown Creek Trail Maintenance Saturday, August 16, 2008 Trail Maintenance for Mountaintown is Saturday August 16th 9:00 AM. If we get enough volunteers we also plan to tackle other trails such as the 3rd Pinhoti (trail from Conasuaga Road up to Highway 52). Marco to coordinate volunteers through SORBA. Details on meeting place to follow. September 6th Mountaintown Creek Walkthrough Saturday, September 06, 2008 There will be a 2nd public field trip to hike the 5.6-mile trail. The finalized date for the hike is September 6th. More logistical information will come later.
